Thermal Energy Investigation

Groups are trying to maintain a constant temperature inside a student made device for 24 hours. The goal is to keep an ice cube in its solid state for 24 hours. Students are using substances that retain energy and keep thermal energy from entering their chamber.

Thermal energy can refer to several distinct thermodynamic quantities, such as the internal energy of a system; heat or sensible heat, which are defined as types of transfer of energy; or for the characteristic energy of a degree of freedom in a thermal system, where is temperature and is the Boltzmann constant. Wikipedia

I love learning! I'm in a leadership program at UCONN called UCAPP. I teach 6th grade science at Haddam-Killingworth Middle School in Killingworth, CT. I am excited to grow as a teacher and as a leader.
